The staff of National DRAGSTER would like to welcome you to NationalDRAGSTER.net, the new website of the official publication of the NHRA.
This website, offered free to all registered NHRA Members, is the digital companion to our award-winning print magazine and is maintained by the same trusted staff of professionals who have delivered your NHRA news for more than 50 years. Through Jan. 24, this website will be open to all visitors as a free preview; beginning Jan. 25, you’ll have to be an NHRA Member to have access to the information.
Through this site, you will enjoy a front-row seat to the latest NHRA news and results through both live and regularly updated postings, bonus content from the print issue, and original columns each weekday covering a wide variety of drag racing topics.
Our online Bits from the Pits column follows in the footsteps of its famed print sibling but with a wonderful new twist. Instead of having to wait a week or more for the news to arrive in your mailbox, you’ll now get it as soon as we do. The staff will update this column multiple times throughout the day, with everything from a quick heads-up about a potential breaking story to a hot new story lead to full-blown analysis and mini features.
Our event coverage, which kicks off in Pomona, will provide in-depth reporting on breaking news at the event as it happens. Our reporters will be in the pits, at trackside, and everywhere between to share the news and images through journal entries or the accompanying Twitter feed.
The DRAGSTER Xtras section will feature additional photos from stories in the print issue that were not published due to space or creative decisions or, as is the case with the Dale Ham photos presented with the opening issues, that are a unique addition to the story.
This site also will house an easy link to the current digital version of the publication, allowing you to switch back and forth as you peruse the additional content.
We’re also going to provide you with original staff-written columns each weekday. Each Monday, Brad Littlefield will analyze the weekend’s results in the reprise of his popular Monday Morning Crew Chief column. Tuesday, Candida Benson will take a look back at how National DRAGSTER covered great news stories of the past with Time-Travel Tuesday. Wednesday’s column, The Sports Report, will be written by Kevin McKenna and will focus solely on the world of Sportsman racing. Each Thursday, John Jodauga will track down an interesting subject from the sport’s history for his column, Where Are They Now? Friday will feature My Favorite Fuelers, with Phil Burgess, which will take a look at some of the great nitro-burning machines in drag racing history.
Finally, we’ve opened the vault to our extensive stats collection, stocking the National DRAGSTER Resource Library with the types of historical and statistical information that helps us do our jobs. From a complete list of national event winners dating back to the 1955 Nationals to a look at the quickest performance in class history, there’s a lot to enjoy and learn.
As mentioned, this site will be open to all visitors through Jan. 24, after which you’ll need to be an NHRA Member to access the information. If you're not yet an NHRA Member, we think that you'll find many benefits to NHRA membership. Above and beyond this new website and our trusted print magazine, you'll have access to exclusive online NHRA benefits, including event-long access to our world-famous live audiocast and our live-timing feature. You can check out the member benefits by clicking the Why Join? link at the top of the home page.
